I see Hornig is offering a lowering kit that reduces height of seat, by adding a part to the shock. not sure yet how that works. about E140 euros. The Lowering kit is set of kits and suspension tweaks that drop the stance of the bike. Low seat is not included from what I remember.. The Low seat is about 1 1/2 inches lower the the standard GS seat (the other 1/2 inch is taken up by the reduced width of the seat. I recently test drove a standard seat height F800ST at my local dealer, and the seat height (standard seat/standard suspension) is definitely to tall for me. I could touch the ground on both sides while on the balls of my feet The Level 1 upgrade kit maintains the stock bike’s 835mm seat height, whilst Level 2 ups ride height by 25mm. The Level 2 rear shock also includes individual high and low speed compression damping adjusters, as well as a Progressive Damping System (PDS) that helps compensate for the lack of dog bone linkage at the rear. The factory low suspension option just uses a shorter shock and the front suspension is unchanged although one can always slide the fork tubes up the triple clamp a bit. If the bike is standard height/low seat then going to the shorter shock would be the easiest route. Going to the shorter shock does require the shorter side stand however. Damn I could not disagree more. I ride almost all on the street 5'5" and 28 inseam. My bike is the regular GS with a lowered Sargent seat. I have no issues with the height and the ride is amazing. The trellis suspension gives very little dive under hard braking and honestly the soft setting for me is more comfortable than my previous Ducati .
